Each fortnight, we’re sitting down with a member of our team to learn more about their personal pursuits, wellness rituals and Assembly Label essentials.
Meet Yaminah Willcox, our Customer Care Coordinator.
Hi Yam! What do you contribute to the Assembly Label business?
I am a Customer Care Coordinator and it is my job to make sure all our online customers are given the best experience possible. I always try to bring a fresh, positive outlook and make sure that I am having an impact on our customer's days in the best way I can. I am very passionate about my job and the connections I get to make with customers every single day. It makes me really happy knowing that I have the ability to solve problems, go above and beyond, and make things as easy as possible for our customers when traditionally with online shopping, it can be a challenge. I try to make sure our customers have a really memorable experience every time, and feel comfortable coming back to me with any issues or questions they have, knowing that I will do whatever I can to help them.
What does an average day at work look like for you?
I cover all of the channels that our customers can contact us through. This includes Instagram, Facebook, online reviews, live chat and of course, emails. Each day varies but often includes chatting with customers to give sizing/styling advice, checking on the tracking of online orders, supporting our retail stores with anything they may need, placing orders with customers over the phone, checking stock levels for pieces that may have sold out online, responding to Instagram comments and anything else that may pop up throughout the day. Each day there is something new and exciting happening in the online world, it definitely keeps me on my toes!
What is your most-worn Assembly Label piece?
Because almost my whole wardrobe consists of Assembly Label pieces, it’s really tricky to choose just one! I would say the Linen Slip Dress is my summer go-to; I love the simplicity of it and the ability to dress it up or down with accessories and different styles of shoes. On cooler days I’ll throw on a pair of High Waist Rigid Jeans in my favourite shade, Pacific Blue. I really love the fit of them and they look great with almost any top or jumper.
Can you describe a wellness ritual or personal project that you’ve relied on this last year?
This year more than ever, I think it’s been really important to take time to listen to your body and mind, to lean into however you are feeling and to not feel guilty about that. This is something I haven't been particularly good at as I am always go, go, go. If I notice myself feeling run down or tired, I will take time out for myself and give my body and mind time to rest and recover. This may be a glass of wine in the bath, a face mask, a sleep in, a swim in the ocean, a long run or dinner with my best friend.
How do you find work/life balance each day or week?
Planning out my week ahead is really important in order for me to feel successful at work and balanced in my personal life. I rely heavily on routine throughout the week to ensure that I am fresh and ready to go each morning and that I am not spreading myself thin. I am also really lucky to have an incredible support network, both at work and in my personal life and I know that I can lean on them for support whenever I need it which is very reassuring and grounding.
